Youth Academy Under 15 Manager Gordon Mairs will run the Belfast Marathon on Sunday 3rd October to raise funds for Turning Point NI, Ballymena United Youth Academy and Ballymena Golf Club Junior Section.
Gordon said: “Training has been tough and despite a few niggles and set backs I'm looking forward to getting to the start line next Sunday. I've no doubt the run will be tough and very challenging but I know if I believe in myself and the training I've done I can make it round in the time I'm aiming for."
“The run isn’t about me, it's about raising money which will make a difference to people’s lives. The more money raised, the more people we can help. Turning Point NI do amazing work in the area to reduce the intensity of suicide and self-harming behaviours and I know first hand the important work that Ballymena United Youth Academy and Ballymena Golf Club Junior Section do for the young people of Ballymena."
